Working Holidays

To avoid unnecessary hassles when you arrive, it's always a good idea to read up on all the relevant visa and immigration policies and procedures before you plan your trip.

Before you leave home

The entry and Visa requirements for Wales are the same as for the United Kingdom as a whole.

When you arrive in the UK, you'll be required to produce a valid passport or other approved document to determine your identity and nationality. You'll also need to produce any paperwork that might be needed to establish whether you require leave to enter the UK.

If you’re a foreign national, you will need medical insurance. Any admission to hospital in Wales will require payment - unless you’re an EU national.

For full visa/document information, visit the UK Home Office or UK Visas websites.

At the moment, it's pretty easy to find work in most of the favourite backpacker sectors - including the hotel and catering industry, financial services, office administration, and retail.
